Explaining Zobo Drink

Zobo drink is a popular beverage loved by Nigerians, especially in the Northern region because of the sweet taste and flavour it has. It is produced from dried roselle or sorrel leaves (Hibiscus Sabdariffa). The beverage is a bright red drink and is often served as a refreshment drink at parties.

Zobo is not only refreshing, it has been medically tested and approved to regulate blood pressure, reduce cholesterol, strengthen blood vessels, calm the nerves, reduce stress to improve sex drive and most importantly, for weight loss.

The drink, however, is not safe for pregnant women in their first trimester. This is because it induces menstruation and may lead to a miscarriage.
