How to Connect Airpods to Mac

Step 1

Turn on your Mac.

Step 2

Locate “System preference” from the Apple menu.

Step 3

Click “Bluetooth” and turn it on.

Step 4

Place both AirPods in their charging case and open the lid.

Step 5

Press and hold the setup button on the back of the case until the status light flashes white.

Step 6

Now, choose AirPods from the list of devices available for connection on your Bluetooth.

Step 7

Click “Connect.”

How to Change Noise Control Modes on AirPods from your Mac

To select one of two or three noise control modes, you may use the force sensor on your AirPods Pro or the noise control button on your AirPods Max.

Adhere to the steps below to switch between noise cancellation and transparency settings while listening to audio from your Mac on AirPods Pro or AirPods Max:

After clicking the AirPods Pro or AirPods Max icon in the menu bar or Sound in the Control Center, choose one of these options:

  1. Noise Cancellation: Blocks out external sounds.
  2. Transparency: Lets you hear the sounds around you.
  3. Off: Turns off both noise cancellation and transparency.

Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Sound if the AirPods Pro or AirPods Max icon isn’t on the menu bar. Check the box that says “Show Sound in Menu Bar.” You can choose whether Sound is displayed in the menu bar all of the time or only when it is active using the pop-up menu.
